Origins

Circuit Analysis is a 2017 rebranding of Jirafa Consulting which began in 2015. Our refined and focused mission is perfecting a streamline process for worst case analysis of high reliability power systems.

High-Rel WCCA

Worst Case Analysis (WCA) or Worst Case Circuit Analysis (WCCA) is used to determine whether an electrical system meets its design requirements over all specified operating conditions. This begins with calculating the total tolerance of each parameter by adding the initial tolerance to deltas from temperature, radiation and aging. These total tolerances are then used to determine the worst case variations of the whole circuit's parameters of interest. For a power converter, parameters of interest are things like output voltage regulation, frequency, ripple, transient response and stability margins.

Future

We plan to add more material to this website including tutorials, articles, tips and tricks to help circuit designers learn efficient WCA techniques. For now, if you want to learn more about WCA we recommend the Electrical Design Worst-Case Circuit Analysis Guidelines and Draft Standard TOR-2013-00297.
